Allus Rumnael's letter to Ravik

A reply to Ravik's letter to Daenur's parents

Ravik unfolds the parchment, and is met by unfamiliar writing. In common, thankfully.

"Ravik,

There is a saying amongst my people: 'Kârz thûram vekh Anûl.' In common, it would translate somewhat to... 'I give my bones to your anvil'. It may sound grim to other folk. But it means I am grateful.

Mister Thallium has helped us a lot. With how times have been, Gods above forgive me, I had begun to worry that Daenur may have been caught by a Gnoll or Kuo-Toa. Knowing he is with strong, respectable people eases the weight on our minds.

I am sad to say I cannot tell you more about that strange thing. A paperweight, I called it. Whenever I try to think of that stranger, it's like looking into disturbed water.

We have set off to Nayora, and should arrive some days after this letter. Embaúba and the roads are dangerous at the moment, so we must take detours. I hope to meet you soon, so I can crush you with a hug.

Best regards,
Allus Rumneal."
