Midràn's Son
As told by Revealer of Ages to Ravik in the Tattoo Parlor in Nayora:
"One learns through mistakes. Sometimes, that which we create goes beyond our intent, beyond our desire. Such is the case here."
"In the days of molding, a shard of the Father was placed within his favorite mountain, to forever live within it and experience the world from amongst the people he could call his. But seeds grow..."
"Like the larva of a beetle breaks through rotting wood, he dug through magma, rock, ice, and crystal, until air touched his skin and he was no longer one with the mountain."
"There, alone in the coldest reaches of the North, He was himself. A creation, like most others, made not to serve the Gods, but to bear witness, made from the marrow of mountains, the skeleton of the earth, the echo of the Father's parting wishes."
"Where he walked, rivers flowed. Where he stopped, rocks settled. Where he raged, magma burst forth. His presence was that of the Material itself."
"The Father loved him deeply. He was proud of his work, and to see the first being he called his Son mold the land himself? That was joy. But fear grew. For in moments of stillness, memory gathered. From memory, will. From will, desire and change."
"He craved the Father's throne. Many mountains were lost, now covered in ice and snow, and with them, untold lives. The Cradle from which the giant emerged, claimed by the Father as his Throne, was shattered. And thus, for his sins and disregard for the beauty of creation, so was the giant."
"But the Father is merciful."
"It is He who made the Giant, and it was He who would give him purpose. A Chance to repent."
"Aspects. We are made of parts of one whole, just as the mountain is a part of the Earth itself. And thus, the First Giant was split, sent away to serve those who he wished to have kneeled before him."
"But the people forget. For the people have many worries, many desires, many wishes. And so He was left as a shred of memory, to be remembered as a lesson to those who tell stories and sit above their kin. To not wish to be too grand, for each have their own role."
"Rai'Voa is part of the first giant. And there are other parts of him buried all over Ytesh."
