A Chat with Midràn - Takeaways
Riga's Takeaways
-
What could be the Lost Children threatening / capturing the Hunters of Double Bay? Fiends? The lost witches?
-
Aero-Tural is alive, or at least "healable". A proper Draconic Scale within Daenur?
-
There are multiple Shards around, capital. What is happening to the Gem Dragons? Have they been Shards since after the Draconic War, or is it something more recent?
- [History 28] Many Gem Dragons are reclusive and work behind the scenes, but there have been many a recent sighting.
-
Trust and companions. Midràn seemed to read something there, was surprised to an extent. Have her tattoos changed? Were they always mentioned in the patters, one way or another? Or is it Midràn's deductions / recommendations, based on what he read?
- Coincidence, or design?
-
Everyone was made to forget about the temples. Even the gods did, at their own hand probably. So that nobody would be tempted... even among the gods? --> Context seems to confirm it.
-
Then how can the cult know / remember?
-
Some records were not struck?
-
Someone stored the knowledge intentionally somewhere else?
-
Seradez tattled through the barrier.

"Free her from her pain at once" --> Sounds like the gods might be looking for someone to put their beloved sister out of her misery, one way or another.

Trick is NOT soulless. Souls cannot be split. They can be damaged, drained, corrupted, used as fuel, but they cannot be split. They are a fundamental unit. Which means that her soul is stretched, anchored to herself and to wherever/whatever traps it, with the rest acting as a bridge in the middle.
- She's unlikely to be able to "pull" like she was in Seradez's vision. Likely to have been possible due to the nature of the vision.
- If the soul stretches, it can be used to triangulate (a True Vision spell to see, and math. Or a dedicated object, which would need specific, dedicated ingredients.)
