Ga'Hoole

[Riga]

Place

Riga recalls the name, Ga'Hoole. It is an ancient Aarakocra city, built during the Alignment. It is peculiar in that not many other species can easily visit it- it's located on one of the floating islands to the north of Ytesh.

Homes are built on the stone faces of the island, or up on the surface. It was lucky to survive most of the wrath of Dragons during the draconic wars, and is spoken about by commoners who cannot dream of traveling that far with the same mystique as Bluetrench, and likely has a size comparable to Nayora.

The region is populated by many Griffins, which are said to be the ancestors of Aarakocra and are treated with reverence by their people. Its main exports are textiles, highlighted by secretive Aarakocra dyeing methods.

For visuals on both aarakocra fashion and building style, think India vibes with the addition of houses built on trees and a lot of bridges for outsiders.

Druid Circles

Regarding druidic circles, Riga knows of a few in Ga'Hoole, of varying types. Some druids focus on the Moon, shifting into forms that resemble their ancestral Griffons. Others focus on their link to the flying island, drawing upon the land's power.

Otus, specifically, is the founder of a Circle of Dreams, a rare Circle that can only be formed in lands touched by the Feywild. Druids of the Dreams tend to be guardians, mending wounds and spreading the joy of good fey to places where gloom has taken hold. It is peculiar to Riga that Otus would have traveled all the way to Lavon to take on a student, when so many in Ga'Hoole would be more than eager to study under him.
