Riga Tabris

Riga likes spicy food and strong tea.

Riga doesn't like handouts, trailblazes her own path. Handouts are traps, come with biases and strings. A shortcut that requires more soon. But sometimes, and ever more often, you just have to start from somewhere when you can't afford the time to waste/invest.

Riga despises the Demon Princes and their commanders, but she can feel sympathy for the victims – mirrors, projects herself. See Xarla

Freedom, possibility, independence. The underpinnings of invention and creation. Values and options to protect dearly. What is targeted by oppressors and manipulators.

Riga is vindictive and spiteful, a touch rash under all her poise and manners.

Manners maketh man. It also distances her from the fawny girl who grew up in the swamps of Double Bay. A concrete milestone and reminder of how far she's come, of success, of willpower, of how thoroughly she's shaken off her mother  – doesn't believe in affirmation of her oppressor by negation (aka, still upholding her mother  by refusing her).

There is no Fate, only Will --> She is a Fateweaver, a luck-seller after all. Tugs and reshapes the strings.

She remains standoffish, snappish and curt, but especially when away from Bethany Tabris and worried, her "Momminess" slips out – conflicted as she is.

She has a somewhat repressed penchant for teaching... but little patience for less-than-brilliant and willing students.

All this Shard business is a stepping stone towards removing her mother as a threat. No matter the cost.

"Everyone lies. Everyone has agendas. Even gods."

#alex 12/30: On June 25, with the help of Liviina Akra, Riga discovers that the tattoos marking her are seeded with Malachite, forming the constellations that she is most attuned to. A pseudo-Fate, perhaps.
