Grave Lotus
[Riga]
A plant whose origins is linked to the Shadowfell, or the overflow of necromantic energies.
It secrets a blood-like sap that tastes like the worst things you can imagine. If ingested, on a Constitution roll, it inflicts necrotic damage (2d8) and you recover a Hit Die
Each flower produces one corpse on blooming, but there have been specimens that birthed the corpses of large beasts. We may need to act more switfly upon the sewers than previously considered, if Trick's suggestion bears fruit.
Part of the cost is that it is wholly random, unless the cult had found some way to selectively farm the flowers. But that typically takes generations.
- That is, without a contingent of Wizard and Druids, and the The Cult of the Wandering Shard has had generations to stir their plans in motion.
Yes. Magical plants as they are, Grave Lotuses resist attempts at freezing and necrotically wilting. Fire, however, is a weak spot, and their leaves are rather prone to slicing. Prioritize the flowers that have not bloomed, as they may still produce corpses, and then ensure the others do not hold seeds.
