Warforged

Warforged are Constructs, artificial creatures. however, differing from the majority of Constructs, these possess sentience, and specifically, a form of soul. Warforged are created out of a variety of enchanted materials, the most common being metal with wooden cores. However, Warforged built out of more exotic materials, such as white ceramic, pure wood, or a Mycelium core surrounded by rock have been documented. Whatever material they are made of, Warforged tend to be much heavier than humanoids of their size. Their height vary wildly, from 3 feet to the upper 6.

Warforged are a product of before The Taking, when souls still didn't have many options of where to go, and mortals were less sure of what death entailed. Attracted by the concept of souls, Goblins were the ones to conceptualize what modern Warforged are. Publicly, there is no consent on whether Warforged are made of whole souls, or shreds left over from the process of transition between lives.

Whatever the answer, the method for creating Warforged is kept wholly secret, with only an independent community of Warforged holding the knowledge of how to make more of themselves, handed over by their creators after realizing the inhumane conditions they were being subject to due to their similarity to worker automatons.

Warforged are created through a vague mixture of arcane, divine, and primal magic. According to some individuals that tried to study the method in spite of outcry from the goblin and warforged community, the presence of runes in the inner 'shell' of warforged is common, believed to be part of the complex enchantments that keep their 'souls' alive.
