Humans
Humans
Humans first rose to prominence in the midst of the Draconic War, spreading to both sides against the gods' expectations; however, the majority of the human population made up an important part of the Resistance against Tiamat's forces. Most Dragonborn that sprouted from the war pronounce themselves as originally Human.
In spite of not possessing any great inherent magic or physiology in comparison to the other species of Aard, Humans are quick to adapt, absorbing little cultural and technical aspects from various societies and applying it in their own way.
Human communities have architectural aspects that are similar to that of dwarves', cloth patterns inspired by the tapestries of Aarakocra, and Wineries with grapes and techniques 'taken' from Halflings.
Humans see themselves as a cultural Nexus. By absorbing these pieces of a variety of cultures, they believe they could be the bridge to unity amongst conflict-- or in the worst of cases, the judge and executioner that treats them as bad and inferior. Just like there are humans that make use of their cultural tapestry to become great researchers, thinkers, and mages of great renown, there are humans that resent their existence, walking towards the destruction of others for their own benefit.
Humans are a strange bunch. They were never created by the gods, instead just showing up at one point. How? It is postulated that Humans are to the Material what Genasi are to the Elemental Planes; They are what happens when one such people became too attuned to the Material Plane, changing into a more balanced mixture of those influences, just as the Material was born of the alignment and intercession amongst elemental chaos.
