Gnomes

#Gnomes are cryptids. Some people claim they exist. Tiny little guys with pointy red hats that steal from your home at night and party in the forest. But there is no credible spotting ever registered in history.
Some people craft statuettes of gnomes and place them in their gardens, hoping that they will distract the creatures long enough so that they are not stolen from, and so their garden is kept safe and protected from pests.

Others collect gnome statuettes for fun.

It's unknown wether the statues were made before the rumors of the creatures' existence, or if it was the other way around. Scholar suspect spottings of insular and isolationist halfling tribes might have kicked off the rumors, but most gnome aficionados claim halflings are 'too tall to be confused with gnomes'.
