Firbolg
Firbolg originate from a population of Stone Giants that found themselves lost in the Feywilds. There, the nature of these giants, who see the ever-shifting nature of world beyond their caves as a large Dream, was brought to a new level. Their thoughts given form thanks to their conviction in their view, the Giants dreamt. They dreamt of a form more adapted to the beauties of the Wilds, a form integrated to nature and forever able to care for it. A smaller form, not afraid of smashing the flowers and sprouts beneath their feet.
While these giants never obtained such a body, and forever stayed in the Wilds to dream up fortresses, gardens, rivers and mountains, their Dreams did take shape. In other points of the Feywild, the first communities of Firbolg were born, and eventually found themselves in the material plane-- not immortal as their creators dreamed them, but still long-lived.
Firbolg tend to be between 6'2 and 8' tall. They tend to be covered in a layer of fur that varies highly in thickness. The color of this fur can be brown, cream, and a blue-grey, with hair of different colors. At times, their fey nature causes mosses, vines, flowers and other plants to spontaneously grow on their fur in harmless patches.
Firbolg prefer to live in small communities, formed by one or two extended families. Commonly, Firbolg live near communities of Halflings and Aarakocra, in the deeper regions of forests or close to points of natural power. Firbolg love nothing more than a peaceful day amongst the trees of an old forest, an environment that reminds the older amongst them of their original home. They see forests as sacred places, representing the hardiness of life, and strive to live in equilibrium with nature.
Many firbolg serve as heralds of Gaia, aiding other communities in times of hunger and drought.
