Aarakocra
Aarakocra
It's believed Aarakocra are descended from the well-known Griffons. Their humanoid forms have a pair of wings, two arms and legs that end in a leathery texture much like that of birds. Aarakocra tend to look like many different birds, the most common (just like with Griffons) being eagles and owls. Aarakocra tend to stay close to mountainous environments and old forests, building communities in rocky cliff faces or out of rope, wood and cloth as colorful and varied as their feathers atop trees. Color and texture are extremely important for Aarakocra society, becoming a symbol of their status and, at times, influencing how they treat strangers that approach their communities. A caravan of adventurers wearing boring browns and grays might be nearly rejected, while merchants wearing reds and greens full of patterns may be treated as part of the family.
