Planes Overview
Material Plane
- The result of the alignment of the primordial Elemental Chaos into what is now known as the Elemental Planes.
Elemental Planes
- Planes of infinite elements, outside our direct reality in the current times but connected to the Material and Astral plane through portals.
- These portals eventually provide both planes with small amounts of elements.
- While theoretically infinite, the four main planes border and converge over the Material Plane.
- They are easily accessed through portals, which are still a rare commodity.
Astral Sea / Astral Plane
- The area that expands beyond the Material Plane.
- Connected by a spherical portal that slowly transitions from the Atmosphere.
- A sea of darkness and silver filled with small elemental nodules.
Far Realm
- A space made of nightmares and terror born from the minds of life itself.
- It has clawed its way into reality in an area of the Astral Plane.
Echo Planes
Born as offshoots of the Material Plane’s creation. They are the Feywild and the Shadowfell.
Feywild
- One of the two parallel planes to the Material.
- Composed of mutant and vibrant nature, and creatures constantly filled with the extremes of emotion.
Shadowfell
- The second of the two planes parallel to the Material.
- Composed of shadows and negative emotions.
- Origin of necromantic energies and undead.
Outer Planes
The Lower and Celestial Planes exist outside of material reality, rarely linked by portals to it.
They are where souls generally go beyond death, slowly fading into reality to become Elementals, Celestials, Fiends, or to reincarnate as a new being, their memory of a life wiped until a new death.
Lower Planes (Abyss + Nine Hells)
- Locked in an eternal war for control over evil souls.
- Always in search of more to turn into their soldiers to fight the gods' proxy wars.
Celestial Planes
- Planes of light and the gods.
- Carved to serve as most of their homes and to keep the Fiends in check.
- Also guarded by the Neutral Gem Dragons, in their own duty-bound plane.
