Mind Reaver

Aberration
The Godhater

Sand's lore dump to Riga_

Especially as one versed in the matters of stars, you have learned or intuited some information about the Far Realm and Reavers. It feels like in this moment some of this information is being revealed to you, while other bits merely click together upon having witnessed the thing.

Mind Reavers are not merely from the Far Realm- they are of it. Unlike most aberrations that squirm and force their way into Aard through portals and weak minds, the Mind Reavers are extensions of the Far Realm's very will. They might not even be entirely sentient in the way mortals understand it- Riga feels it would be more accurate to describe them as a limb, a tongue, an eye, parts of a long slumbering ever-growing concept within that all-consuming void.

They are the first dreams of entropy, parasites that yearn to be more, the first wardens of the gateway.

You have heard whispers of Mind Reavers, spoken of like Boogeymen, and one of the less consistent detail is their appearance. Riga has studied aberrations, and if they truly are what she has intuited, it is very likely they possess some ability to tap into a mortal's very fears and become that. To a grieving mother, it may appear as a monstrous child. To a mathematician, it might possess the most mind-warping angles that defy geometry. To a diver, it may resemble the depths of the all-encompassing sea. All descriptions agree on two things: eyes that long to look at you, and the ability to speak without speaking.

To fight a Mind Reaver is to face being unraveled, your mind shattered and fragmented into repeating loops of logic and thoughts that never go anywhere, dreams fermented into madness.
