General History

Jurdea is a continent with an interesting history. Katya's favor for the land was there ever since Gaia grew its dense woods and Midrán carved plentiful lakes and rivers into its face. The weaving and webbing, the interconnectedness of life... That is what caught the Weavebringer's eyes. Where affinity was already present, after receiving Katya's redoubled attention? Jurdea only grew more magic to feed its newborn life.

Riga's research tells her that during the Maturing, Jurdea was a region ruled over with an iron fist. Yuan-Ti laid claim to the burgeoning jungles and mangrove swamps, while ruthless Triton - considerably moreso than any that came after that, training their children for war and treating the Material as resources rather than a home- controlled the rivers and lakes. With how fragmented Jurdea is, that made any travel costly.

The True Wizards of Jurdea rose after the Alignment, honing their craft without the need of handholding from the followers of Katya and Sardior. They chipped away at the Yuan-ti's control over land, eventually building great spires where their capitals once stood and abandoning ruins for nature to reclaim. Historians interpret it as a show of disdain and disrespect- that they had no use for the Yuan-ti's framework. That they would build their own, no matter the time nor cost. Triton and Yuan-ti alike were pushed to the very corners of Jurdea.

The Draconic Wars left the land further marked. The dense weave helped protect Jurdea's wildlife, but it also fed Chromatics to the south. Some are said to have survived the years of treasure hunting and glory-seeking.
