Dormant Block of the RuneWeaver

Gifted to Ravik by Amma Brennsa, Runekeeper of Nayora, in the aftermath of his Ritual marking. It is inscribed with the Rune of Curiosity.

Wondrous item (uncommon), requires attunement by a creature that knows Giant, and has intimate knowledge of at least one Rune

This strange 5-centimeter cube is worn at the edges, each face made up of nine equally-sized slots. The material feels like hard, polished stone to the touch, but as soon as the creature attuned to it wills it, it caves in to intent to mold it. Channels of glittering diamond run between each of its slots.

The cube is completely solid, but a creature attuned to it is able to rotate each line or column at will, like the common child's toy, a Cube of Rubik. Which came first?

This Cube has 5 charges, and regains 1d4+1 at dawn. While attuned to the Cube, a creature may spend 1 minute adjusting its configuration and pouring intent into one of its faces to form a Runic Array, which remains until another is formed.

A Runic Array can be formed out of any number of runes that fit into the same face, from 1 to 9 runes. Each Runic Array has a separate effect based on the Runes that make it up, and in the case of longer Arrays, the order.

As a rule of thumb, each Runic Array costs a number of charges equal to its number of runes to be activated. While configuring an Array, based on intent, its cost and effects will be determined for future use.

A creature attuned to the Cube may use their Action, Bonus Action, or Reaction, based on the current Array, to activate it. Use your Exploit DC and ability score for any rolls required by an Array.

When attempting to Activate an effect that the Cube does not have sufficient charges for, you may spend Exploit Dice to power it. Roll your Exploit Dice- the Cube gains a number of charges equal to half the result, rounded up. The Cube can never exceed its maximum charges in this manner.
